Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about CANON Punks — security, privacy, and how it all works.

What is this?
CANON runs a private off-market desk for CryptoPunks. Owners can quietly signal which punks they'd part with — at a price, or open to offers. Collectors can share their taste and get personally matched when something surfaces. No public listings or marketplace noise.
How do I get started as an owner?
Enter your wallet address on the owner page. We look up which CryptoPunks you hold on-chain — no wallet connection or signing required. From there you can mark individual punks as available for private sale or open to offers.
Do you support delegate.cash?
Yes. If you've set up delegation via delegate.cash (delegate.xyz), enter your hot wallet address and we'll automatically detect any CryptoPunks held in your delegating vault. No need to share your cold wallet address.
How do you verify which punks I own?
We look up your address on the Ethereum blockchain (via the Node Foundation API) to see which punks you hold. This covers both the original Larva Labs contract and Wrapped CryptoPunks. We only record the punk IDs you choose to list.
What data do you store?
When you mark a punk as available, we store: the punk's ID, your wallet address, the sale type (private sale or open to offers), your ideal price, flexibility level, and any notes you add. This data is never shared publicly. It's visible only to CANON's advisory desk. We don't store your private keys, seed phrase, or any wallet permissions.
Who can see my listings?
Only CANON. Your listings are stored in a private database and are never displayed publicly. No marketplace, no public order book, no on-chain listing. When a collector expresses interest in a punk that matches yours, we reach out to you directly and privately to discuss terms.
How do actual transactions work?
When a buyer and seller agree on terms, the transaction happens on the CryptoPunks marketplace (the native Larva Labs contract or a standard NFT marketplace like Gondi). CANON facilitates the introduction and negotiation — we don't custody assets or process payments. You're always in control of the actual transfer.
Can I change or remove my listing?
Yes. Enter your address again and you'll see your existing listings in the "Added" section. Tap any listed punk to update the sale type, price, flexibility, or notes. You can withdraw a listing at any time.

I'm a collector looking for a punk. How does this work for me?
Take our short taste quiz — you'll pick the punks you'd own and the ones you wouldn't, select any specific traits you're after, and leave your contact info. When an off-market punk matches your taste profile, we'll reach out personally. No wallet connection required on the buyer side. Your taste data is private and never shared without your permission.
Is there a fee?
Listing your punk as available is free. If a transaction is brokered through CANON, standard advisory fees apply. These are discussed transparently before any deal is made. A portion of all fees are donated to the Node Foundation.
Who is behind this?
CANON is a full-service digital art advisory founded by Eli Scheinman. We work with collectors and institutions across curation, acquisition, exhibition design, and collection management. The CryptoPunks desk is an extension of that practice.
